Today, Disney announced the end of LucasArts. The legendary publisher as come to an end...
The official statement says
"After evaluating our position in the games market, we've decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company's risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games. As a result of this change, we've had layoffs across the organization. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been developing our new titles."It's sad to see a big publisher go away, especially when they delivered games like The Secret of Monkey Island, Manic Mansion or Grim Fandango, the genre defining games of the 90's. But the truth is that in recent years they have been focusing in Star Wars games that failed to be successful. The next game, Star Wars 1313, was presented at E3 in 2012 with a trailer and, according to Game Informer, it might still be saved despite all this.
