When a beloved gaming franchise suffers some kind of change, it's normal to stay cautious. I saw the rise of the Tomb Raider franchise. I dragged my mom to the theater to see the movies because I loved the game so much. But let's face it. The game needed something new, something fresh. That's when Square Enix, the masterminds behind another very popular franchise, lend their expertise to the case. The new Tomb Raider was announced and the debut trailer looked pretty promising. Now, a new trailer and gameplay footage were released, as the release date of the game closes in. The game is scheduled to release on March 5th for PS3, Xbox and PC. Enjoy :)
Rovio pays a tribute to the star wars franchise with their upcoming game Angry Birds: Star Wars, available November 8th. The birds will have the looks of the characters from the movies and the sets will match those of the movies as well.
They will release a new line of merchandise matching the theme of this new game.
If it isn't, sure looks like it! Or maybe, just maybe by coincidence I saw these news today! For starters:
Sony announced this sweet pack of all three Assassin's Creed games with Ezio as the main character, properly named Assassin's Creed: Ezio Trilogy. Word has it that it will include all DLCs from Assassin's Creed II as well, but nothing was disclosed about the remaining games' DLCs. It will be released on the 13th of November as a PS3 exclusive.
And second:
This beautiful package, brought to us by BioWare, includes all three Mass Effect games in a new premium box plus some artwork of Commander Shepard. It will be released on November 6th for PC and Xbox and later for PS3.
Nos anos 90, ter uma consola era um objectivo para muita criançada. Pelo menos onde eu vivia, não era fácil para muitos pais poderem aceder ao pedido dos filhos para lhes dar este "luxo". Mas o facto é que cada vez mais, os videojogos estavam presentes na vida da miudagem portuguesa. E eis que surge o programa que era essencial para quem queria saber o que se passava no mundo gamer: O Templo dos Jogos.
Dava de manhã, salvo erro, e tinha de tudo um pouco. Notícias, dicas, reviews. Claro, os textos eram manhosos, mas olhando para trás podemos dizer que até fez um bom serviço. Não havia youtube, a internet era lenta, muito lenta e esta era uma forma de saber o que estava disponível pelas lojas e ter uma opinião, uma orientação sobre que jogo adquirir. Claro, todo o programa foi feito à luz da sua época com aquilo que era considerado "jovem", como os apresentadores vestidos com roupas "fixes", os movimentos de câmara manhosos, a musiquinha de dance xpto de fundo, os textos com expressões estranhas (sim, que aquilo dito na entoação que eles davam, não tinha gracinha nenhuma...). Acabou por desaparecer da grelha da SIC. O porquê, não sei. Mas o mais certo é que tenha acabado com o aparecimento do youtube e com a massificação da internet nos lares portugueses. Fica a recordação para os fortes :)
