2012: by Youtube

Rewind time... YouTube Style! YouTube made this video with the stars they helped making famous. Some may recognize the videos, but if you don't they have a list on which videos they based to make the parody. There's a video from behind the scenes too :)

2012: by Google

Google has made a tradition on compiling the years' events in a video, a waving goodbye to the ending year. And here it is this years' video. A way to remember the events, the tragedies, the people we lost in 2012. Congrats, Google! Great video!

Let's look at a trailer: Tomb Raider

When a beloved gaming franchise suffers some kind of change, it's normal to stay cautious. I saw the rise of the Tomb Raider franchise. I dragged my mom to the theater to see the movies because I loved the game so much. But let's face it. The game needed something new, something fresh. That's when Square Enix, the masterminds behind another very popular franchise, lend their expertise to the case. The new Tomb Raider was announced and the debut trailer looked pretty promising. Now, a new trailer and gameplay footage were released, as the release date of the game closes in. The game is scheduled to release on March 5th for PS3, Xbox and PC. Enjoy :)

Jobs. The movie.

We knew that Ashton Kutcher was going to portray Steve Jobs in a biopic by Joshua Michael Stern. A new photo for the promotion of the film Jobs is out... and it's amazing how Ashton looks just like Steve Jobs... We'll have to wait for 2013 to see that movie.

IE come back! You're forgiven!

For years, Internet Explorer has become the browser everyone hates (even if they never really used it!). I've changed to Mozilla Firefox in my college years due to one small feature: tabs. I simply loved that thingy! But at the time, IE was at the dreaded version 6. IE7 came out and... it had tabs too, so I switched again. Why change whatever browser came with the PC, right? At the time, performance issues weren't my concern. But all my friends were using Firefox, and claiming that it was amazing and that IE... sucked. Then, at school, we had to use Firebug. Our teacher told us that we would need Firefox for that so I bid farewell to IE once more and never used it since. The Extras featured in Firefox were enough to make it "personal" and customizable and I liked that.

This hatred towards IE, for what I can remember, started because people wouldn't let go IE6, making the browser popular just because people didn't change to a newer version / other browser. Then, of course  comes the problem of compatibility, web standards, etc. IE started to be known as a headache to web developers everywhere. But for what I've seen in recent times, IE is not so different from other browsers around. And the new version is being acclaimed everywhere. The main problem is that haters gonna hate, no matter what Microsoft does... Or is it? In a (good) video, they try to shake away that image of the lower end browser around.

And there's a website too, The browser you Loved to Hate, with reviews, user opinions, and every info you need to see for yourself, to test for yourself if the browser is worth using. For what I see, it looks good. Waay to go, Microsoft! :)

The Hobbit

December 14th marks the return of Middle Earth to movie theaters everywhere. The new movie from Peter Jackson, The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey, is coming. Much is expected form this new movie, but for now, you can see 7 minutes of hobbit goodness with the clip below. It's a recut version of all the trailer and TV spots footage from around the world. It's not an official video, but it looks amazing :)

A day at the office

Every employer should know that if you want your workers to feel good, the work conditions must be the best you can get them. At shcool, we used to say that we wanted to work at Google in Zurich... just because their offices were awesome :D So take a peek at some of the offices of companies we all know :) (click on the images to enlarge).
